In this fun and lighthearted episode, Elliot is bringing on Leslie Darwin O’Brien, entrepreneur and founder of Singing Telegrams Cabaret, to discuss the singing telegram business.
Leslie, a professionally trained cabaret singer, started Singing Telegram Cabaret with a mission to comfort people and make them laugh. She collaborates with loved ones to customize singing telegrams to each recipient, incorporating references like inside jokes, their favorite kind of music, and their individual characteristics. During COVID-19, she’s delivered singing telegrams to clients in every setting—from driveways to nursing home parking lots, and even to Zoom meetings.
She also runs a cabaret program, through which she’s raised over $87,000 for various charities by singing an hour-and-a-half cabaret show that’s specific to their cause.
